2011 Primary School's Championship There will be a special table tennis day for primary school students on Sunday 6 November. All primary school children are invited but the organisers do need to know who will be coming so you must enter. Details are below. Date: Sunday 6 November, 11 am – 3 pm Venue: Northern Suburbs Table Tennis League headquarters, Showgrounds, Glenorchy (entrance on Brooker Avenue) The entry form is located on the forms link.
2011 Statewide Pairs - Cash prizes. This event will be held in Burnie on 19 November 2011. Entries close on 28 October.

These Championships will be held at the Kingborough Sports Centre from 11 - 18 June 2011. Their will be elite Australian players participating and with free entry for spectators, it will be a rare chance to see some exciting matches during this week long event.

New Ratings System - Ratings Central You will notice a banner on our home page with a link to the Ratings Central website. Over the next week we will be adding tournament results from 2008 onwards to this rating system. A few players had a rating from results input from some Aust Open and Vets championships. When our local results are added it should give a good indication of a players Tasmanian rating. Naturally the more results input the better the rating. Results for all singles events will be input and therefore most players that play in local Championships will have a rating. Don't be too disappointed if you are not in your correct position early on as your proper position will appear after all the results have been input.

2011 North West Open - 19 March This years NW Open Championship was held at the Devonport Recreation Centre on Sat 19 March. Eddie Kasser won the Mens Singles from Andrew Castaldi with Maddy Goodsell winning the Womens Singles from Margaret Goodsell.
In order to create a good impression to the public and media, it is essential that all players wear appropriate clothing and footwear. There are many approved table tennis shirts available these days, most made from modern materials that help keep a player cool while playing. Most of the major table tennis brands produce shirts, Andro, Butterfly, Stiga, Donic, Yasaka to name a few. Most of out local Associations also have their own shirt design available to purchase. These shirts are usually moderately priced and attractive. Enquire about then when next at your local centre. Likewise these Companies also have approved shorts and shoes available in a range of styles and prices. When purchasing shoes for table tennis it is essential that they are non marking as many Associations have new synthetic flooring that should not be marked.
Andrew Castaldi defeated Aidan Cutlan 4-3, in the Mens Singles while Maddy Goodsell defeated Irina Sakova 3-2, in the Womens final.

All proceeds from the calendar sales will go directly to the OTTF Women’s Development fund. This fund was created to support women in all areas of table tennis throughout Oceania.
